Kraken Parent Payward Links With Singapore Gulf Bank for Round-the-Clock Settlement
Payward integrates SGB Net to enable 24/7 instant settlement for institutional clients across Asia and the Gulf region.
Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, has formed a partnership with Singapore Gulf Bank to bring around-the-clock settlement capabilities to institutional digital asset markets in Asia and the Gulf region. The integration centers on SGB Net, Singapore Gulf Bank's proprietary real-time clearing network, which allows transactions to be finalized at any hour without the delays associated with traditional banking infrastructure.
The arrangement addresses a longstanding friction point in institutional crypto trading: the inability to settle positions outside conventional banking hours. By connecting to SGB Net, Payward's institutional clients gain the ability to move funds and close positions at any time, a feature that market participants have increasingly demanded as digital asset trading operates continuously across global time zones.

As part of the broader agreement, Singapore Gulf Bank will also onboard Kraken Prime — Kraken's institutional trading arm — as an additional source of digital asset liquidity. That step is expected to deepen the pool of assets available to institutional counterparties transacting through the bank's network, potentially tightening spreads and improving execution quality for large-volume clients.
The partnership reflects a wider trend of regulated financial institutions in the Gulf and Southeast Asia positioning themselves as bridges between traditional finance and digital asset markets. Singapore Gulf Bank's dual-region footprint makes it a strategic partner for firms seeking to serve clients across both growth corridors simultaneously.
