FCA-regulated broker Trade Nation has agreed to take over the UK customer base of Stratos Markets Limited, operator of the FXCM and Tradu brands.
Trade Nation, a London-based spread betting and contracts-for-difference specialist regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, has reached an agreement to acquire the United Kingdom client base of Stratos Markets Limited, the firm that operates in Britain under the FXCM and Tradu brand names, according to an announcement dated October 7, 2026.
The deal marks a notable consolidation move in the UK retail derivatives sector, where FCA oversight has tightened requirements around leverage limits and client-money protections. Trade Nation positions itself as a direct beneficiary of that regulatory environment, absorbing an established book of active spread-betting and CFD accounts.

Stratos Markets Limited, the entity behind the well-known FXCM brand in the UK market, has been winding down or restructuring its British operations, making the client-transfer arrangement a practical path for continuity of service for affected retail traders. For Trade Nation, absorbing an existing customer portfolio represents an accelerated route to scale without the slower process of organic client acquisition. Retail brokers in the UK face significant marketing and onboarding costs under FCA rules, making client-base acquisitions an increasingly common growth strategy in the sector.
