Capital Vacations Acquires Sunrise Ridge Resort in Pigeon Forge
The Myrtle Beach-based resort operator adds 132 units and a third Smoky Mountains property to its growing portfolio.
Capital Vacations, a Myrtle Beach, South Carolina-based resort management and vacation ownership company, has acquired certain assets at Sunrise Ridge Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, the company announced Wednesday. The deal brings 132 additional units under the firm's management umbrella.
The acquisition marks Capital Vacations' third resort property in the Smoky Mountains region, deepening the company's foothold in one of the Southeast's most visited leisure travel destinations. Pigeon Forge, situated at the gateway to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, draws millions of tourists annually and has seen sustained demand for short-term vacation accommodations.

The move reflects a broader consolidation trend in the vacation ownership and resort management sector, where operators are pursuing scale through targeted regional acquisitions rather than single large-market bets. Adding a cluster of properties within the same geography can allow management companies to realize operational efficiencies and cross-sell memberships across nearby resorts.
Capital Vacations did not disclose financial terms of the transaction. The company's expansion into Sunrise Ridge Resort signals continued confidence in the Smoky Mountains market as a reliable driver of vacation ownership demand heading into 2027.
